Starting Well With Working Well

What is Starting Well with Working Well?

Starting Well with Working Well is part of the health and wellbeing support offered to all new colleagues within the first 4 weeks of starting their new role with our Trust. The support is made up of 2 interactive virtual sessions plus a face to face consultation. Whilst attendance is completely optional – you can even pick and choose which ones you would like to attend – we really hope you will join all 3 sessions!

The aims of the programme are:

  1. To introduce new colleagues to the wide range of resources available to support health and wellbeing.
  2. To raise awareness of common and sometimes hidden health issues and the support available to colleagues.
  3. To ensure colleagues know where to go for help and support if they need to access the Staff Physiotherapy Service.
  4. To ensure colleagues know where to go for help and support if they need to access psychological support.
  5. To start the Wellness Action Plan which you might like to use during health and wellbeing conversations with your Line Manager in the future.

Why do we offer Starting Well with Working Well?

We know that healthy, happy staff are more compassionate, provide safer care and are more likely to be productive, so looking after your health is paramount to supporting your success in your new role. We also know that our colleagues are often confronted with the extremes of frustration, sadness and despair whilst at work and this can sometimes profoundly impact upon wellbeing. We think that Starting Well with Working Well will help us all to work together to provide outstanding care to each other as well as our service users, and will support our Trust to be a great place to work.
